ISLAM
*  In Islam 5 is a sacred number. Foremost are the five Pillars of Islam: profession of faith, CHAHADA; ritual prayer, SALAT; legal alms, ZAKAT; fast of the Ramadan, SAWM; and the pilgrimage to Mecca, HADJ.

*  Muhammad was five years old when his father Abdullah died.

*  The five "takbirs" or formula of prayer, in the Islamic religion. Prayers are said five times every day. There are five categories of Islamic law and five law-giving prophets (Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad).

*  In Islam, particularly Shia Islam, the Panjetan or the Five Holy Purified Ones are the members of Muhammad's family including: Muhammad, Ali, Fatima, Hasan, Husayn and is often symbolically represented by an image of the Khamsa.
